Miasa Corporation Brings new Jobs to Yorktown Indiana
Indiana Films is excited to be a part of three documentaries scheduled for production in 2008 .
The working title for the first documentary:
The Past & Present of UAW Local 287.
Indiana Films is working with previous and current union leadership to tell the story of the UAW Local 287. This labor force maintained a labor agreement with the Borg Warner plant in Muncie for 70 years. This story will be about the people, told by the hard working people through the best and worst changes.
Recently I received a copy of the documentary titled, The Corporation. I have been watching this in segements, partly due to time restraints, but also because I cannot absorb all of the information at once. Made in 2003 and distributed by Mongrel Media, The Corporation was produced by Mark Achbar, Jennifer Abbott and Joel Bakan. I highly recommend this film.
Thanks for the gift .
I have some catching up to do! We’ve been excceptionally busy here at Indiana Films. We’ve produced a series of videos, starting with The National Derby Race commonly known as NDR or Soap box Derby.
We also produced a highlight video of the 2007 Muncie Gus Macker. We shot a great deal of raw video with some new on screen talent. We crammed a weekend event into a 3 minutes video which could easily become a thirty minute project.
For the 2007 Muncie Ribfest, it looked like rain on the day of the shoot and sure enough, it did. However, the sun did finally appear, which made the ribs seem great. We had the opportunity to work with WLBC’s Steve Lindell - who had his first go at rib judge.
Finally, we produced The White River: Past, Present, and Future a few years ago. However, we plan on developing several new projects in association with the M.S.D. in the near future.
After about 2 days of an online investigation, I found a talent source that I would like to see grow and prosper. This is a web site that I believe holds a great deal of potential www.indianaactors.com. This service costs only $10 a year and is all for a good cause. I think this is a great place to start.
Good work Papaw and thank you for all those involved.
Talent is the greatest difficulty with starting a production company in Indiana. This is not to say that Indiana lacks talent. In fact, my experience has shown me that this state is brimming with talent – all kinds of talent – actors, singers, writers, artists, make-up, stunt persons, and other creative professionals in the industry.
The problem, however, is that these talented individuals need direction and grooming. Often, Indiana’s talent come intact with a dream and a plan, but lacks the direction and assistance necessary to succeed. By providing various talent with direction, it acts as an injection of hope – solidifying their dream to a way of life.
In short: There IS talent in Indiana, a lot of it!
The creative business people, production houses, and artistic institutions need to develop a communal talent pool, a place where young aspiring talented persons can connect with industry professionals and agents. In future entries, I will discuss how this can be achieved.
The concept of Indiana Films LLP was conceived in Los Angeles, California between two brothers from Muncie, Indiana. In 1999, the brothers, both having experience in the entertainment industry, as far as one being an artist, singer, songwriter, performer, and the other having experience in the marketing and management, they wanted Indiana Films to put the state of Indiana on the map, and for Indiana Films to be a resource and outlet for Indiana and local talent. Tommy Loser and Calvin Loeser DBA (Doing Business as)Tommy
and Calvin Kane made their first record in 1983 and made 1000 records (not cds) at CRO studios, also known as the County Recording Office and Open Reel Publishing . Having felt the frustrations of being creators of content with no local outlet is really what brought around the idea of www.indianafilms.com. One brother, Calvin, (CalvinRoy.com) working full time in the industry in Los Angeles, the other brother, Tommy, employed at a local factory in Muncie, decided to set their dreams and goals a-fire, in other words, make the leap and go for it. Indiana Films was established in the year 2000 and has evolved from a small video production company into a professional multimedia company. Specializing in audio/video digital creation with delivery over the internet. ” Our original goals of Indiana Films was to become a theater release movie production company with ties to Los Angeles. Although this is still our goal, we have learned from a very competitive industry, we must find a way to make revenues and stay in the game to follow our dreams and goals. Indiana Films specializes in digital delivery of professionally produced audio/video and website enhancement packages. Video services by appointment for the business or family.”

I am an associate of a new film festival being created in Muncie, Indiana named “The Harvest Moon Film Festival.” One of my key responsibilities is to obtain vendors for a “vendor fair” at the festival. Some target markets and businesses:
I’m hoping loyal readers will assist me in getting connected with these organizations: the deadline is looming and not much time is left before the inaugural festival. Thus far, I have a verbal commitment from a Odiscs.com. The only target area that I feel that I am going to need the most assistance is w is with distribution agents.
If any body has any inside contacts or does business with any vendor that might be interested - please have them contact the Indiana Films office at 765-289-2247 or email tkane@indianafilms.com.
